Lurking below the surface of the Ballona Wetland is 7 to 8 Billion Cubic Feet of Natural Gas that SoCalGas (Sempra Energy) imports from Texas, Oklahoma and other areas.
The circumstances are very similar to Porter Ranch. Past History shows leaking oil wells have provided a pathway for these gases to migrate to the surface.
