Important Biological Resources Important biological resources are not “Environmentally sensitive areas” with the meaning of California Public Resources Code Section 30107.5 or 30240.
LUP
Land Use Plan means the relevant portion of a local government’s general plan, or local coastal element, which are sufficiently detailed to indicate the kinds, location and intensity of land uses, the applicable resource protection and development policies and, where necessary, a listing of implementing actions.
LCP
Local Coastal Program means a local government’s (a) Land Use Plan (LUP), (b) zoning ordinances, (c) zoning district maps and (d) within sensitive coastal resource areas, other implementing actions which, when taken together, meet the requirements of, and implement the provisions and policies of the Coastal Act. Items (b), (c) & (d) are collectively referred to as the Local Implementation Program (LIP).
Mole
a structure or fill set up in the water such as for a breakwater, pier or man-­‐made peninsula. A mole is not a portion of land adjacent to the water, and connected to other land, whether raised by dredge spoil or otherwise, which does not form a peninsula.

Wetland

MARINA DEL REY, CA – was created with combined efforts of Los Angeles County, Los Angeles City and 83rd U.S. Congress Public Law 389 in 1954 Initial authorization under Rivers and Harbors Act was requested by the Committee on Commerce on June 2, 1936 and adopted by the U.S. Senate August 26, 1937. Document 389 contains various reports and comments from the U.S. Bureau of the Budget; the Chief of Engineering, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), the U.S. Department of the Interior; California State Water Resources Control Board, State Highway engineer, State Lands Commission, Department of Fish and Game; Division of Beaches and Parks of the Department of Natural Resources and the State Engineer. This report was originally submitted April 7, 1952.

83rd U.S. Congress Public Law 780 in 1954 authorized the creation of Marina del Rey under the RIVERS AND HARBORS ACT OF 1954 under the direction of the Secretary of the Army and Supervision of the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers. It was signed by President Dwight D. Eisenhower.
